Lighting is a great way to attract retail traffic to a downtown area, stimulating the local economy and generating a sense of community. Traditionally, solar lighting systems have not played a role in this arena because of aesthetic concerns. In 2006, SolarOne introduced the Flare Series, featuring a versatile, contemporary new design. This year, SolarOne collaborated with Hadco Lighting to create a decorative post-top Solar Lighting System, reminiscent of turn-of-the-century gas lights. Now communities can take pride in both the appearance and sustainability of their main street lighting, while reaping the benefits of a vibrant downtown.
